Autumn Makeup

Soooo.... it's offically autumn?!
Well, maybe not, but it certainly feels like it, and any excuse to whack out the gold eyes and berry lips.
I love, love love this look and funnily enough, after doing my makeup for the day, I found Zoella had uploaded a look to her YouTube channel that was almost identical! Good minds think alike hey?

Im no makeup artist, but I love playing around with makeup looks, so it's not perfect but I love it. Im also not experienced in the art of taking selfie's, so I apologise for the bad posey photo's, but I TRIED okay?! Okay.

Anyway... for my base, I took the BodyShop all-in-one InstaBlur primer. I love this stuff because it's silicone based and really makes my makeup last longer. I applied this mainly to my nose, chin and forehead and then used any excess to blend onto my cheeks.

The foundation I used is the L'oreal TrueMatch in N1, which is slightly too dark for me, but is the palest foundation I can find in my local Boots shop. I found that blending it out helps it to match my skin tone slightly better, so I buffed this into my skin using my Zoeva Silk Finish brush. This foundation is medium coverage and is very dewy, but looks flawless on the skin.

For my concealer, I took Benefit Boi-ing in the palest shade (duh), and dipped my finger in the pot. I found that rubbing the product between my fingers helps to warm it up, and makes it more blendable. I concentrated this on the deep set purple/blue area's of my eyes and bags under them.
I then took the Mac Pro-longwear concealer in NW15, and applied this under my eyes, down the centre of my nose, the sides of my nose, cupids bow, chin and forehead and blended this out with my BeautyBlender.

To set all this place, I used my Mac Studio Fix powder in NW10, which is a very high coverage foundation, but means that my concealer won't be budging. I then took my Bourjois Java Rice Powder and lightly dusted this all over my face using a RealTechnique powder brush.

For my contour, I used the Two Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer in Medium/Deep on a tapered brush to the hollows of my cheeks, temples and chin. I then buffed this into place with the Benefit Hoola bronzer to add some colour and definition to my face.
Following this, I used Mac's Petal Power mineralize blush which goes well with any look. I love this because it's subtle, but has a slight shimmer too it, so can be used without a highlight.
I did however, use the MUA highlighter in the pinky shade, and applied this to the high points of my face, such as my cheekbones, bridge of nose and cupids bow.

Next, I decided it was time to focus on my eyes. I always feel naked without my eyebrows on, so I filled them in using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown on a Mac 266 brush. I like to concentrate the product in the middle and towards the tail of my brow, then feather the product towards the front.

For my eyeshadow, I used the shade 'Oudh' from the MUA Twelfth Night Winter Shade's palette. This is such a good palette for £4 (!!!), and the colours are so pigmented. I concentrated this on the outer half of my eye. I then took the golden shade from the Collection Eye's Uncovered (Nude Bronze) palette, and applied this to the inner half of my eye. Taking the slightly darker gold shade from the Collection palette, I then buffed this colour through my crease to darken the look. I also applied this colour under my eye in the outer half, and the slightly lighter gold in the inner corner. I then took the lightest shade in the palette and dabbed this in the very inner corner.
To deepen the whole look, I took charcoal brown by Mac, and ran this through the crease using a fluffy brush and to blend all the colours together.
I found that by this point, I had lost a lot of the gold colour, so I popped some of the 17 glitter shadow in Chalice to the centre of my lid to brighten the look.

After this, I used my 2true eyeliner to create a cat flick, and added a generous coat of the Maybelline  Lash Sensational Mascara on my top and bottom lashes, before applying Ardell Demi Wispie false lashes.

To bring the whole look together, I then applied Diva by Mac which is a gorgeous berry/wine colour. Although its a Matte finish, it's not drying in the slightest and makes your teeth look super white. It's not as intense as some berry colours out there, so I feel like it's totally okay to wear this colour as an everyday lip.
